Ministries

At CBC, the Lord has called us to provide meaningful opportunities for individuals of all ages to grow in their faith, build lasting relationships, and find biblical guidance for every stage of life. From children to adults, the various ministries are dedicated to nurturing a love for God, a heart for serving others, and a passion for spreading the good news of Salvation (Ephesians 4:15; Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Titus 2:2-7; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Peter 4:10).

Our Beliefs

We are a group of Christians who gather only to the name of the Lord Jesus. We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and that the Lord Jesus Christ is God. We believe that the Lord Jesus paid the penalty for our sin by His death, and by acceptance of this truth, we are children of God (Matthew 18:20; Ephesians 4:4; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13).

Listed below are our beliefs on a few additional topics. If you have questions, we encourage you to contact us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in its original manuscripts. It is our standard for faith and practice and the measure by which all of life and personal revelation is to be evaluated. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe man was created in the image of God, but man sinned, rebelling against his Creator, incurring not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. Being born in this state, all men have a sinful nature and thus deserve eternal judgment from a righteous God. (Romans 5:12-14; Ephesians 2:13)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 8:54-59; Matthew 28:18; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He paid the full penalty for man's sin when He died on the cross and shed His blood at Calvary as a substitutionary sacrifice. He was buried and raised bodily from the dead, and He is now seated at the right hand of the Father and is our High Priest and Advocate. (Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 1:17-23)

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells believers, confirming their salvation and enabling them to bear godly fruit. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit also empowers believers to have a bold and effective witness, so He manifests His gifts in their daily lives for the edification of the church and as a testimony to the world (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 8:14-16; Galatians 5:22; John 16:8; John 3:1-7; Luke 12:12; Romans 8:9-10; Ephesians 1:13-14).

We believe Salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through a personal faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ. Once granted, salvation and eternal life can never be lost. Man's eternal destiny is solely determined by his acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7; John 10:28-29; John 3:16-18)

We believe that death comes to all people, and that those who accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior will receive everlasting life in God’s presence. Those who reject God’s free gift of salvation will face eternal separation from Him (Matthew 25:31-46; Mark 9:43-48; 1 Corinthians 4:5; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8).

We believe in the Blessed Hope of every believer: the imminent and personal return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This return is a source of comfort and encouragement. Christ will come again to gather His Church, raise the dead in Christ, and transform the living believers so that we may be with Him forever. This glorious event fuels our ambition for holy living, steadfast faith, and joyful anticipation as we await the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-15; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52).

We believe baptism is followed by repentance and faith. It is a public witness that marks the believer as a follower of Christ. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Simply stated, it is an outward sign of an inward change. Baptism also symbolizes the believer’s union with Christ (Acts 2:38; Acts 18:8; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27).

We believe in observing the Lord’s Supper each Sunday in response to Jesus’ command to remember His death until He returns. During our worship, we partake of the bread and the wine as a symbolic memorial of His sacrifice. This is a sacred act, and we encourage each person to examine their heart before participating. If you are not in active fellowship with CBC, we invite you to observe and ask any questions after the service (Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:26-28; 1 Corinthians 14:26; Mark 14:24; Acts 2:42; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 10:17; 1 Corinthians 12:27).

We believe that the Church is Christ’s symbolic body in the earth, and that it should reveal His character, His message, and His love to the world. We believe that the Church is to go into all the world, preach the gospel, and make disciples. This will lead people to have fellowship with God and community with others (Colossians 1:24; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15-16;1 Corinthians 12:13).

We believe the Church is called to actively engage with the local community—serving as a witness for Christ through its actions, example, and presence. We also believe the Church has a responsibility to support and partner with those of like-minded faith who are in fellowship with CBC. (Matthew 5:14-16; Galatians 6:9-10; Acts 2:44-47; Jeremiah 29:7; Micah 6:8).

We believe in obeying Christ’s command to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, making disciples of every people group and culture. We engage in missions not merely as a task, but as an act of love, obedience, and worship, participating in God's redemptive work among all people (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15; Revelation 7:9-10; Psalm 96:3; Isaiah 49:6).

The Gospel

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news that God became man in the person of Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sin and restore a broken relationship with Him.The Bible says in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” As Creator, God has authority over all. He made mankind to live in perfect union with Him, but man broke that union by disobeying God.As a result, all people are separated from God. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But God, in His love, made a way for us to be restored—through His Son, Jesus Christ.John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus lived a perfect life and died in our place. Romans 5:8 says, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He rose again three days later, conquering sin and death.Salvation comes by faith, not by works. Ephesians 2:8–9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” A relationship with Jesus is a free gift—not earned, but received by grace. If you have questions about this good news, please reach out. We’d love to share more with you!

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
